Why is it that this film takes a ridiculously long to get into, and yet by the end, you find yourself swearing your head off at those b***ard scientists and wishing that they’d all go and jump off a cliff? This film is depressingly good. E.T. is almost exactly the same age as me & looking at it now, Drew Barrymore might look a bit young (obviously by Charlies Angels 1 & 2 she’s gorgeous), but the film is scarily entertaining. Compared with some films, ET might not be as good as some slightly less dated films, yet when either drunk or stoned, this film is entertaining. Surely this is the point. Watch ET (as if you haven’t already!) & enjoy it, just remember that compared with a few modern films, there are better. This film is an original, but that doesn’t make it good.

About T.Bonney

Northerner with a penchant for optimism and self-deprecating humour. London based for 14+ years now and still love it most of the time. Philosophical, film fan with tastes for beer, rugby, reading and more.
